Better Your Chances of Losing Stomach Fat

If you have fat around your belly then you are looking at one of the main symptoms of approaching heart disease. The best thing you can do is start taking steps to losing this stomach fast, starting with avoiding stress.

Stress is the number one enemy of people who want to stay thin. When we are freaked out our adrenalin glands stop working properly. Several terrible things start to happen when the adrenalin glands become overloaded but the main symptom is the overproduction of cortisol. It is cortisol that tells our bodies to create that protective band of fat around our stomachs.

To remove stress we need to make some big lifestyle changes. Sometimes it means removing yourself from a job that is not working so well for you anymore. Sometimes it means getting rid of a relationship that is troubling you. For some people the answer is taking a break or a holiday. For the most part an expanded belly tells others that you are leading a life that stresses you out. It is also an indicator that you eat badly because you are poor or overworked.

Heightened cortisol levels in blood, resulting from stress, seem to react with the body’s insulin to create visceral abdominal fat — and, in a double whammy, to also drive us toward fatty, sugary foods. Reducing stress may make it easier to say no to barbecue chips or chocolate truffles that go straight to the waistline.

Many people start losing weight once they attend meditation or yoga classes. The result is reduced stress levels and a better ability to lose weight.

You really have to watch your diet if you have belly fat. A recent Japanese study found that fucoxanthin, a compound in brown seaweed, shrank abdominal fat in lab animals, and encouraged a five to 10 per cent weight loss. Be sure to order lots of seaweed salad next time you are at a restaurant. Seaweed is also good for the thyroid which is also essential to controlling weight gain.

You should also avoid eating any trans fats. These are fats found in most convenience foods and junk foods. They go straight to your belly once you consume them and add to your belly fat problem.
If you are a drinker or a smoker then it is time to stop. There is a reason why they call that belly fat a “beer belly.” Many people mindlessly drink six beers a day without even thinking of the consequences.

Most people with belly fat are not at a healthy weight in the first place. If you have that fat belly then it is absolutely a priority that you exercise every day and get that fat off. If you can’t get that weight off then hire a personal trainer to help you do it. Find out what your healthy weight is and then try to make it a goal weight. Get those pounds off or face an early death from heart disease or diabetes.
